Fat Burning Pills: Here’s What They Need to Work

fat burners

Not all fat burning pills are the same. After spending just a few minutes online, you probably aren’t sure what to believe about fat burning pills. Do they work, how do they work, can you make them work better, and more. If you are thinking about going on a fat burning pills regimen, maximize their impact with the right choice. Here’s how you can get fat burning pills to work.

What are Fat Burning Pills?

Fat burning pills come in all shapes, sizes, abilities, promises, and price tags. It is hard to know exactly what to choose and what to expect.

Fat burning pills are supplements specifically designed to do one job: reduce fat. Fat burners are also called thermogenics. Thermogenics means the supplement has the ability to produce heat. The idea behind thermogenics is that the supplement increases heat in the body, which then boosts metabolism. When thermogenic fat burning pills are used in bodybuilding, sports, or to lose weight, they rely on the supplements ability to increase the basal metabolic rate to kickstart energy [1].

About basal metabolic rate

Your body’s basal metabolic rate (BMR) is the estimate of the how many calories you can expect to burn if you do nothing at all. So, how much can you burn if you are sitting, working, watching television, and so on. If you were to sit and do nothing for 24 hours, the BMR would tell you how much energy your body would need to essentially keep you alive.

It is important to note that the BMR is not the amount of calories you can burn if you are working out or being active. The goal for increasing BMR is to burn more fat even when you aren’t doing anything [2]. So, your body never has downtime. You don’t have to worry about not bringing calories when you aren’t at the gym.

How to calculate BMR

If you want to know how much your body can burn on its own, before you take the fat burning pills, calculate your BMR online or on your own. To calculate your BMR, you need to know your current height and weight. You will also need to consider your age and gender. Your BMR will consider your your daily activity levels as well.

People who don’t exercise as often will have a lower BMR than those who are moderately active or participate in intense exercise and training programs.

Several online calculators will do the calculation for you. Just remember, your BMR is calculated in calories. It tells you how many calories you need for your body to keep your organs working, your heart beating, and your body breathing. The BMR does NOT tell you how many calories you should or can be eating.

If you want to know how many calories you should eat to reach your current fitness goals, you multiply your BMR and your PAL (physical activity level) together to get that number.

CinerateWhat Types of Fat Burning Pills are There?

Before we dive into how to make fat burning pills work better, we need to first understand what kinds of fat burning pills are out in the market. Knowing what type of fat burning pills you take will help you create a workout and nutrition plan that helps your fat burners work better.

  • Thermogenics

Thermogenics are the most common types of fat burners. It is important to note that many fat burners for sale online contain an ingredient called ephedrine. Ephedrine is desired because it performs 4 important functions: increasing heat expenditure, interacting with muscle cells, and toe prevent the muscle tissue breakdown, short and long-term weight loss [3].

There are non-ephedrine thermogenic fat burning pills on the market.

  • Thyroid regulators

Another way to control the body temperature and rate of metabolism is via the thyroid. Thyroid regulators are supplements that help people who suffer from hypo and hyperthyroidism. Hypothyroidism is a condition that occurs when the thyroid gland doesn’t make enough hormone to keep the body functioning properly. Hypothyroidism can lead to diseases and weight loss. Hyperthyroidism is a condition when the thyroid creates too much of the hormone. Significant weight loss occurs, as well as weakness, insomnia, and irregular heartbeats.

Thyroid regulators control these conditions, but they have also been proven to support weight loss in people without thyroid conditions. Thyroid regulators work similarly to thermogenics by increasing the body’s temperature and metabolism in athletes and bodybuilders.

  • Fat blockers

One of the most recognized fat blockers for sale is Alli, but there are other natural fat blockers for sale as well. A fat blocker is a supplement or medication that does exactly what it says: blocks fat. What that means is fat blockers prevent the body from absorbing fat and carbohydrates. Prescribed and over-the-counter fat blockers do come with unwanted side effects, so many people turn to natural fat blockers. Natural fat blocker supplements contain white kidney bean extract, vitamin C, and antioxidants.

  • Appetite suppressants

Appetite suppressants are designed to curb that cravings that cause you to struggle to meet your fitness and nutrition goals. In many cases, appetite suppressants are loaded with proteins and vitamins that satisfy your cravings so you feel full longer. Some appetite suppressants have stimulants and others don’t common ingredients in natural appetite suppressants include hoodia, garcinia cambogia extract, potassium, green tea, green coffee bean extract, and 2-aminoisoheptane.

  • Cortisol blockers

Cortisol is a hormone produced in the adrenal glands and excreted by your body releases when it is stressed. Cortisol is often referred to as the “stress hormone.” This hormone is designed to help your body manage the stress. Conditions related to increased cortisol levels are Cushing’s syndrome, increased blood pressure, rapid weight gain, and even depression. Cortisol blockers  help your body naturally decrease your cortisol levels.

8 Ways to Improve How Fat Burners Work

Fat burners alone are not enough to achieve fitness and healthy weight gains. Yes they will help your body, but there are ways you can maximize their effectiveness. Here are 8 things your fat burners need to work better [4].

1. Choose the right fat burner

Above are the common types of fat burners on the market. When choosing a fat burner, you should make your choice based on your needs and your goals. You now know there are fat burners with stimulants and fat burners without. Obviously, if you have high blood pressure, a heart condition, or anxiety, you would want to choose a stimulant-free fat burner.

Choosing the right fat burner may also come down to your dietary needs as well. Some fat burners may be made with ingredients to which you are allergic or animal products that you don’t consume in your diet. If you are lactose intolerant, be on the lookout for lactose and its other names as well.

Also, you have probably heard your fair share of horror stories about fat blockers. They usually involved unexpected bodily functions and leakage. Here’s what you need to know about fat blockers: the fat has to go somewhere if it isn’t absorbed by your body. So, if you don’t cut the fat from your diet while on fat blockers, it will come out of your body instead – if you catch my drift. For that reason, it is best is probably best for people with GI issues such as IBS to avoid fat blockers. Others who should avoid fat blockers are organ transplant recipients, patients on cyclosporine for transplant patients,  people who are malnourished or suffering from eating disorders, and women who are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Also, while on fat blockers, it is important that you take a multivitamin because the supplement does more than block fat. Fat blockers prevent your body from absorbing the nutrients and vitamins in those foods as well.

2. Take it at the right time

Getting the timing right will help your body respond better to fat burners. If you are taking fat burners when you aren’t hungry, you can’t maximize their appetite suppressing benefits. It is best to take fat burners, especially appetite suppressants, before you eat a meal. This will help you avoid eating too much. When you aren’t as hungry, you prioritize your plate. When you prioritize your plate, eat the most nutrient-dense foods first so that if you can’t get to the other stuff, your will have maximized the nutrients and vitamins initially anyway.

If you choose a fat burner with stimulants, consider taking it just as you would your morning coffee; although, it may not be wise to mix it with your morning coffee, and definitely don’t take it if you drink energy drinks throughout the day.

If you prefer non-stimulant fat burners, or you don’t workout at night, take your fat burners right before dinner. That way, if you don’t hit the gym, you will have eaten less, you won’t be buzzed before bed, and your body can still work to burn fat without you trying.

3. Don’t be a slouch

Fat burners are not your excuse to skip the gym. You have to do the work; fat burners can’t do it all for you. Fat burners are just a small part of your larger fitness and nutrition regimen. You have to stay on track and motivation to experience all the benefits of fat burners. Plus, as I explained before, if you don’t, you can experience a few side effects that are not too pleasant.

To really vamp up your metabolism, you need to combine fat burners with cardio. Give fat a one-two punch. If you take stimulant fat burners, take one before and after your cardio workout. Take one pill before running, walking, or cycling to kickstart the process. Enhance the fat-busting effects of cardio with the metabolism-melting of the fat burners. Then, keep it going long after your workout is complete to increase the amount of time your body’s temperature is up. You will find you can burn more fat this way.

4. Take a chill pill

Chronic stress puts your body at risk. You need to learn to control your stress better. Fortunately, as an athlete or bodybuilder, you can manage stress with your daily workouts and cardio. That only goes so far, however. If you always stress at home or at work, you are asking for extra pounds. As I said before, stressing causes your body to produce cortisol.

Cortisol has been linked to cognitive issues, insomnia and restlessness, bowel and digestive concerns, depression, anxiety, diabetes, early death, and weight gain.

Part of your daily workout and routine should include include downtime, too. To reduce cortisol levels in your body, exercise regularly, take time to enjoy being outside, manage stress, and put your favorite playlist on. When you have less cortisol in your body, cortisol blockers can maximize their effectiveness.

5. Don’t forget the diet

Fat burners are only one part of the equation. You must maintain a well balanced regimen. Eighty percent of losing weight is changing your diet. Think about it: cutting excess fat in your diet means you don’t have to work as hard to get rid of it. Fat burners are an effective weight loss tool, but they can’t do it all. They will only work best when you maintain a proper diet while on fat burners.

Maintaining a healthy diet is simple when you don’t lose sight of your short and long-term goals. If you are consuming foods with lots of carbs and sugar, you are defeating the purpose of taking the fat burners in the first place. You can guarantee that you won’t be experiencing any fat loss regardless of how often you go to the gym.

Take a good look at what you want to achieve and how your diet either promotes your goals or steers you offtrack. You must be taking in fewer calories than your body expends to manage and maintain a healthy weight. If you are trying to build muscle while also reducing body fat, always remember that what you need is more lean protein. Don’t forget the fruits and veggies too, but the pastas, breads, bagels, and pizzas should be kicked off the list.

6. Stay hydrated

The  nature of fat burners is to increase body temperature to boost metabolism. Of course that means your body will be working harder even if you’re not. So, when you hit the gym, your body is on overdrive. Staying hydrated is a two-for-one punch. Water keeps your body hydrated for optimal fitness performance, and increases water consumption has been linked to boosting the metabolism as well.

The benefits of water are widely known. When you increase your water intake, you take in fewer calories throughout the day [5]. Drinking water also helps you avoid sugary drinks and saturated fats, according to Harvard Medical School. How much water do bodybuilders need? They require more than most because of their advanced fitness and nutritional demands.

The best indicator of hydration is thirst. When you are thirsty, your body needs water. Yes, drinking water is important, but too much water can make you feel nauseous and weak, and it can even lead to muscle cramping. Drink water before you workout, drink water while you workout, drink water after you workout, and don’t exceed more than 12 quarts of water in a single day.

7. Set realistic goals

Don’t expect miracles within the first 24 or 48 hours of taking fat burning pills. Don’t start taking fat burners with unrealistic goals in mind. Remember, you are trying to do a lot for your body at one time: burn fat, improve strength, boost endurance, and increase muscle size. That all takes work and time. More is not better, or safe, when you are taking fat burners. Fat burning supplements work best when you take the correct dose at the right time.

It sounds great to burn fat, but expect to see 10 to 15 pounds drop off your body by the end of the first week. If that happens, you should be concerned. If you experience rapid weight loss of and kind, you could be losing muscle mass as well. Set your goals, revisit them daily, and if you aren’t seeing results, don’t be afraid to change them up. Your commitment is to yourself only.

When you choose the right fat burner for you, track your progress over a couple weeks. To better understand if the fat burner is actually working, give the fat burners a couple weeks before you start snapping progress selfies.

8. Don’t forget to cycle

Bodybuilders must cycle their supplements. The same is true for fat burners too When you don’t feel the boost you used to get, cycle your fat burner. Fat burners fit right into your cycle therapy.  Overtime, your body can resist the fat burner because it gets used to it. You know how that feels. You experience that with your workout as well. Instead of relying on a single supplement, cycle a couple for 2 weeks at a time. If you choose a fat burner with stimulants, you should cycle it with non-supplement fat burners to give your body a break [6].

Fat burners don’t work the same for everyone. You need to choose the best one or two for your needs. Sometimes you get it right the first time,  and sometimes you don’t. Like I said, after a few weeks, if you don’t see results or you don’t experience the kick, it’s time to switch your fat burners. Fortunately, many fat burners for sale online give you more options to have your best body.
